Wildlife spotting is always a possibility, but it’s not guaranteed — these animals are wild and sometimes they’re simply out of sight. Your guide knows the best areas to look for koalas and kangaroos, and we’ll maximise your chances when conditions allow. For everyone’s safety, we can’t always stop on the roadside for photos.

Is the day going to be a long?

Yes — it’s a big day, and that’s what makes it so rewarding. The Great Ocean Road covers a lot of coastline, so the tour is designed to be completed within 12 hours. Where will we eat on the Great Ocean Road?

There are plenty of great options — your guide will recommend the best lunch stop on the day based on timing, weather, and what you feel like (quick bite vs relaxed sit-down). Most private Great Ocean Road day tours typically stop for food in one of these towns: Lorne – great cafés and casual lunch spots (perfect if you want an earlier lunch). Apollo Bay – one of the most popular mid-route lunch bases with lots of choice (cafés, bakery, pub/brewery style).

Where do I get picked up from?

We offer door-to-door pick-up and drop-off from your nominated address in Melbourne (CBD and most inner suburbs). Just provide your exact pick-up location when booking, and we’ll confirm the final pick-up time in your itinerary.

Things to know

Proceeding with a booking

Type or select the number of guests in your private group and choose your ideal date. Click on time shown in the booking calendar. Start time will vary based the penguins arrival time.
Please choose from tour options and add-ons. Proceed to check and provide your pick up details and select option for payment.
If your tour includes meals we will contact your chosen lunch venue availability to update you as soon as possible.
Our booking office will send you an itinerary and tax invoice. We will then email and secure your admission to all relevant attractions .
We will require the pick-up/drop-off address for the day.
We will contact you the week of the tour date with any final adjustments. On occasion, someone can’t make it on the day. That’s fine, we just need to know 48 hours prior.
The day of the tour, the driver will arrive 15 minutes early, giving the group time to settle on the bus ready to go.
