Description

Barmah Park Restaurant and Cellar Door, Moorooduc, Mornington Peninsula

Located off the Mooroduc Highway, just minutes from Mornington, Barmah Park is conveniently placed in an idyllic setting. However, this boutique vineyard offers more than the view. Focused on providing an experience, Barmah Park offers accommodation, dining, and cellar door experiences. Family-friendly, it has a play area for the kids and children are capably catered to with an enticing selection of food available on the kid’s menu.

Originally beginning its life as a cattle farm, Barmah Park has undergone a total transformation over the years. The move away from cattle farming was inspired by the burgeoning wine region and a desire to take advantage of the richness of the soil. The first vines, pinot noir, were planted back in 1998; the first wine made in 2003. The addition of a restaurant, outdoor dining and cellar door, all completely refurbished in 2017, has transformed Barmah Park again and it is these additions that has inspired their ongoing passion.

Under the guidance of winemakers Richard McIntyre, Jeremy Magyar and Han Tao Lau, Barmah Park produces three ranges of wine: Arthurs Seat, Lighthouse, and their Limited Vintage range.

Wines

The range of wines include:

  • Chardonnay
  • Pinot Gris Rosé
  • Pinot Noir
  • Shiraz (Syrah)
  • Shiraz Cabernet

Cellar Door

Barmah Park’s rustic cellar door offers a range of 9 wines for tasting. Located behind the restaurant, there is a bar and outdoor seating. Three different tasting experiences are available.

Firstly, their Signature Tasting which offers four wines from their Arthurs Seat label. Duration: 15 minutes, $5 per person.

Secondly, their Premium Tasting which offers a selection of wines from their Lighthouse label and also includes their limited release Barossa Valley 2016 vintage shiraz and Mornington Peninsula 2018 vintage pinot noir. Duration: 15 minutes, $15 per person.

Thirdly, their Panoramic Tasting which guides you through their entire catalogue of wines. This is accompanied by a local cheese and wild Australian olives. Duration: 30 minutes, $35 per person.

Please note all their tastings are currently available for groups up to 10.

Restaurant

Barmah Park’s restaurant offers a modern Australian menu, showcasing the abundance of world class produce from the Mornington Peninsula. At the heart of their dining experience is a focus on seasonality with flavourful dishes beautifully presented.

Sit and enjoy Barmah Park’s spacious dining room with panoramic views of the rolling vineyard. Warm up beside a comfortable log fire throughout the winter months, and in summer take the opportunity to soak up the stunning views – and the sunshine – outside on the sprawling deck.

Open daily for lunch and for dinner on Friday and Saturday, Barmah Park has a well-considered a la carte menu. The lunch we include on our Mornington Peninsula winery tour allows you to select a 2-course lunch. Choose either an entrée or dessert and pair it with a mouth-watering main. With so many options to choose from, Barmah Park should definitely be considered as a lunch destination on your next Mornington wine tour.
