Their Story

The story of Helen’s Hill began long before a vine was ever planted in Coldstream. It’s a tale of two families—the Nalders and the McIntoshs—whose love of farming and wine runs deep in their veins. When the opportunity arose in 1997 to combine their passions for farming and winemaking, they seized it, creating a vineyard that reflects their commitment to quality and distinction.

Their philosophy on making wine is simple: they take what Mother Nature gives them. The unique site in the Yarra Valley cannot be replicated, and they want you to experience this uniqueness in their wines. They employ sustainable and minimalist practices in the winery, letting viticulture guide them in creating two distinct wine labels:

• Helen’s Hill: Wines from special areas of the vineyard, designed to age before drinking.
• Ingram Road: Wines from riper fruit, designed for immediate enjoyment.

The Helen’s Hill Cellar Door offers wine tastings for $10 per person, complimentary for wine club members and their guests. For groups of 8 or more, please contact them via email to arrange your visit.

Restaurant

Helen’s Hill offers a delightful dining experience that emphasizes the joy of sharing meals and wine with loved ones. Their menu is designed to complement their wines and create a memorable culinary experience.

Enjoy a casual meal on the Wine Deck Bistro, open from Friday to Sunday, 11 am to 4 pm. On Thursdays and Mondays, join them for wine and cheese platters along with wine tastings at the Cellar Door from 10 am to 5 pm. The Wine Deck offers full table service, while the Lawn Area provides a self-serve experience with ordering via QR codes on outdoor tables.
