Mornington Peninsula Cheese & Wine Tasting Tour
Treat your taste buds to a private tour of Victoria’s renowned wine region on our Mornington Peninsula Cheese & Wine Tasting Tour. Discover the delights of local, award-winning and hand-crafted artisan cheese. Treat your palette to a taste of the region’s famous cool climate wines.
First Wine Tasting
Yabby Lake winery is our first stop. This winery produces a small selection of single vineyard and single block wines off their site in Tuerong. The main focus is on pinot noir and chardonnay, but they also have small plantings of pinot gris and syrah.
In addition, this cellar door hosts wine from its sister property in Central Victoria, Heathcote Estate. Heathcote Estate produces single vineyard and ‘single block release’ shiraz off their site. A great treat to taste two regions in one stop!
Cheese Tasting
Boatshed Cheese is an award winning small business, renowned for its handmade artisan French style soft cheeses. Boatshed source their goat, cow and buffalo milk from across Victoria. They pride themselves on creating cheeses that not only taste amazing but that are a treat for the eyes as well. Every product they produce is lovingly hand crafted and nurtured on site.
Second Wine Tasting
We next venture to either Port Phillip Estate or Red Hill Estate, depending on your choice and venue availability. Here we will stop for the second wine tasting of the day. Both wineries are renowned not only for their fine wines, but also for their stunning views. Explore the unique taste of the Mornington Peninsula wine region. These cool climate wines are unique – a delectable result of the natural conditions of climate, soil and landscape. Spend time with the dedicated and passionate staff who delight in discussing the minute details of their wines.
Lunch
The day continues with a leisurely lunch at Green Olive in Red Hill. Sit and relax as you enjoy your choice of grazing boards for lunch. These very generously portioned boards are designed to be shared. Offering a selection of local and imported cheeses, charcuterie, locally sourced vegetables, and accompaniments, each board is served with artisan bread. You’re welcome to choose one plate per person to share. Take your time here, sit and chat about your day, before our final tasting.
Third Wine Tasting
Our last stop of the day is Mont Rouge Estate for a final wine tasting. Once the wine tasting is completed, we will move down to the chocolaterie, Cocoa Rouge, the home of their onsite chocolate factory for a complementary chocolate sampling. Cocoa Rouge produces homemade ice cream and artesian chocolates embracing traditional techniques and innovative flavours.
